Don’t miss your chance in 2018 and already reserve your seat for the upcoming workshop sessions!
After a very successful first session, VLCI is organizing a second HSP workshop, on November 24th 2017, in Amsterdam. Join our team of experts and guest speakers and discover the beauty of Hansen Solubility Parameters!
On September 29th 2017, we have hosted our first HLD-NAC workshop at our Amsterdam facility. The participants have filled in our survey, and have given us excellent feedbacks!
In emulsion polymerization, the replacement of standard monomers with bio-based monomers requires a firm understanding of the total system, if it is to be formulated properly. The HLD-NAC approach can be used to characterize the constituents in a polymer emulsion so that, more rational adjustments can be made to the surfactant system, while maintaining stability and … Continued
We are proud to announce our first HLD-NAC workshop, held at VLCI Amsterdam on September 29th 2017. Check the document below for more information. For full program and registration, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Among other High Throughput experts, Sander van Loon will give an introduction pitch during the workshop from AceForm 4.0, on June 6th in Berchem (Belgium).
April 21st 2017 was a very exciting day: VLCI organized its very first workshop! An interactive event, where both formulators and raw material suppliers have learnt about HSP, together with our guest speakers and VLCI experts.
The effective method HLD-NAC for surfactant selection and emulsion developments, was used by VLCI to describe an example for emulsion polymerization. In this article, published at SpecialChem, VLCI demonstrated how the parameters of the monomer are obtained, how surfactant selection goes via HLD-NAC and how to implement this to improve emulsion stability and select even … Continued
Excited to announce that VLCI is organizing HSP workshops! The first one will be held on April 21st 2017 at VLCI Amsterdam. Check the doc for more info, or ask us at email@example.com, also for registration and full program.
With great pleasure, we announce that VLCI has opened a new facility at the Parc Científic Barcelona! See the pdf for more info; BCN Official announcement
VLCI published an article on SpecialChem, showcasing the benefits of HSP for instant dispersants matching for specific fillers and pigments; More information
SpecialChem launched a new tutorial at their website about wetting agents. The tutorial is made by Jochum Beetsma, and the experiments are performed at the lab of VLCI.
VLCI published a short article about how High Throughput (HT) can be used for paint developments.
In the November 2014 issue of the European Coating Journal, Sander van Loon was interviewed about his point of view on the adaption of High Throughput for coating developments. HT is already there for about 10 years and slowly integrates in the coating industry. Several users were interviewed, resulting in a nice overview of the … Continued
The joint project of Nuplex and VLCI will be presented on October 14th 2014 during the PRA 9th Woodcongress in Amsterdam; http://www.pra-world.com/nandl/conferences/woodcoatings9/programme
Based on the patent on the sealant (WO 2012/072248 A1), co-developed by VLCI, there is now a filler product co-developed, named 1toFill. This is an innovative water vapour permeable filler, 1k and water based, suitable for porous substrates such as wood and concrete. The launch of the filler product has started in January 2014 and is very well accepted by painters and renovators. More details about this product, including case studies can be found on: www.1tofill.com
VLCI is now equipped with the FORMAX from Chemspeed, besides manual preparation and testing equipment. Chemspeed has a wide variety of HT tools to make various formulations, in an automated, parallel and precise manner. In order to make use of the expertises and HT capabilities of both companies, we announce a new service for our customers: HT services. With this HT services, customers can run HT preparation and screening for their formulations on project basis. A new website is now launched where you can easily fill in your HT request for this new and unique HT service; http://vlci.chemspeed.com
On November 13th 2013, the article; Artwork conservation materials and Hansen solubility parameters: A novel methodology towards critical solvent selection was accepted to publish in the Journal of Cultural Heritage. See also the link http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.culher.2013.11.006.
On November 15th 2013, VLCI celebrated its 5 year anniversary, which was a great success and everybody enjoyed it! This day was full of very nice presentations, HT demo, VLCI tour and ended with drinks and food. See for a summary of the event this pdf. We are looking forward to serving you the coming 5 years and even longer, for which we have several interesting ideas in mind, so we keep in touch!
In the European Coating Journal of November 2013 (www.european-coatings.com)., an article about the work performed at VLCI for Mondo has been published! The article is called Maximising dispersion stability (see pdf) and explains more how effectively a dispersant can be selected for a particle, in this case the Finntalc M15. This approach works much faster and effectively by combining Hansen Solubility Parameter and High Throughput screening. This can now be applied for a variety of particles like pigments and fillers. Ask us if you would like to obtain more info or a quote to perform such a project for you.
On November 15th 2013 VLCI celebrate their 5th anniversary with an exciting program, see “pdf doc”. We are proud to announce that within the 5 years, VLCI has grown from the founder Sander van Loon to a company with 7 people, 2 laboratories, many small to medium customers worldwide and a growth in turnover of 600%. We would like to toast with you on this milestone, so please confirm if you would like to join. Hope to see you then!
Please note that the address of VLCI has changed to Science Park 408 (instead of 406) from April 1st 2013. Due to the further expansion of VLCI, it was needed to move to a bigger facility, where we now have 2 bigger labs (testing and formulation lab) and an office/meeting room. Science Park 408 is across the street of our previous facility. We are looking forward to welcome you in our new facility!
